Shah Rukh Khan is very good in the film. I liked the film as a whole. In my opinion, it was ok. But it didn’t really appeal to me, a lot. It is a decent film and pretty amusing, although it’s not particularly gripping or deep. I did enjoy it though. It is generally amusing, from start to finish. The film also introduces us to this principle which is much wider than just India; namely, the idea of loving your people, where anyone who threatens these people is immediately sent to jail. It’s a pretty good little script and the action sequences are pretty well done. It’s definitely a lot of fun to watch. P.s – sometimes you can catch him talking to his friend in Hindi in one scene, while the Tamil is playing in the background. I’ve never heard of such nonsense!
Om Shanti Om is a dark and murky mess of a film; it is absolutely trash. It is obviously not made from any particular place in the world, but rather just a mishmash of Indian style direction and acting. The story is absolutely ridiculous. It is self-serious, melodramatic, and just awful. The theme of the film is pretty mediocre, as well; Shanti Om’s motivation is to be a famous star and he goes to many extreme lengths to achieve this, including killing someone. The characters are not very believable, and aren’t written in a very realistic manner. The acting is awful, I mean very bad. Shah Rukh Khan is especially laughable, but he also has the most ridiculous performance of the bunch. There are a lot of real strong actors here. The rest are silly and unconvincing; they do what they’re told and try their best. It’s definitely worth watching, but it’s a waste of time. I had hoped that I wouldn’t like this film so much because I dislike Indian cinema, but I actually really didn’t enjoy watching it at all. I wouldn’t recommend watching it at all. Now, I’ll leave you all to digest that. This is my review of the movie, and you may or may not like what you hear. ‘Kay?
